Horse Purchasing Policy:
If a buyer is interested in moving forward with one of our horses, a 10% non-refundable deposit pulls the horse off the market for a week to set up a pre-purchase exam. After the exam, the buyer has 24 hours to determine if the buyer would like to move forward with the purchase or terminate the sale. If the buyer chooses to terminate the sale and releases the pre purchase exam and all records (X-rays, blood results, etc) then 50% of the deposit will be refunded. If the buyer opts to not go through with a pre-purchase exam, the deposit is 100% non-refundable. Buyers are welcome to set up a PPE without putting down a deposit however the horse will continue to be advertised for sale and shown to other prospective buyers. By not putting down a deposit, it is not guaranteed that the horse will still be available.

Come What May aka 'May'
May (JC Emma's Angel) is a 2019, STOUT 15.3h TB mare. May joined LRS as a hopeful addition to join our lesson and lease program. May has been an absolute blast to bring along - she is sporty, game to 'go and do', brave to the fences, confirmed changes, very minimal (if any) show prep, big ground covering step. May hacks out both alone and with company. May attended her first horse show with us and she was so professional - trailered like a dream, settled into the stall without a fuss, schooled well and handled the very busy horse show environment confidently.
As May has gotten more fit, she is starting to show us that she would be happier having a person to 'go and do' things with vs the small lesson program life. May would be suitable for many disciplines - hunters, jumpers, eventing, pony club, foxhunting, etc. She has a great work ethic and is a very safe ride. Prior to coming to us, she was part of a kid's lesson program and dabbled in lessons as well as IEA meets. May is currently schooling 2'6 courses with changes. She has no vices and is currently in front shoes.

Midnight Award 'aka Howie'
Howie is a 2021 16.1h TB Gelding who retired in Nov 2025 after 23 starts and $79k in earnings. Howie is ready to continue his education and find his new human. Howie has lightly been restarted and while he’s getting back in shape, he’s proven to be quite the easy going, old soul kind of dude.
Suitable for a junior or ammie working with a trainer. Howie is a straightforward ride, hacks out alone or with company, he is not spooky and has all the pieces to make a lovely all around mount. Howie is currently in front shoes. Howie is a great option for a rider who has a limited budget but wants a quality horse.
Howie went a show in July and was GREAT! It was a super choatic show and an ammy was able to successfully steer him around 18"-2ft course. He stalled well, was personable and a cuddlebug, and did his job.
Howie is currently working on his fitness and building his topline. Howie is very casually offered for sale to the RIGHT home that can provide him with the proper development and care that he needs. He is your 'ride the horse, not the xrays' kind of mount - if you are looking for a perfect PPE, Howie is not for you. However, as for Howie, he doesn't know his PPE wasn't perfect and he gives 110% every ride out.

Wine and Dine aka 'Vera'
Vera is a 12yo, 16.3h TB mare that had a stellar racing career in Japan, with 135 starts before making her way to the US. It is a bit of a mystery as to why she made the trip to the US, but regardless, this mare is pure class. Perfect manners. Lovely to ride. Great jump. You really can not ask for anything more. Vera has been an amazing addition to our program. Vera is currently schooling 2'-2'6 courses. Ask Vera one day to tote around a WT beginner rider, no problem. The next day, clock around 2'6 and participate in a jumper clinic, also no problem. Vera truly is a real life unicorn.

Buffy Longfellow aka ‘Buffy’ - FOUND A HOME.
Buffy is a 2015, 16.1h Trakehner mare. Buffy is casually seeking a new lease partner. Buffy has been with LRS for 5 years and has proven to be a lovely mount with 'all the buttons' while being straightforward enough to learn on. She has dabbled in a bit of everything - hunters, jumpers, dressage and eventing. Her flat work is lovely, she’s educated, responsive and enjoys working. She does have her own motor. She has a massive step, round jump and is brave to the fences. She enjoys a softer rider who can use their body to help regulate vs a rider who uses more hand. She is a big moving mare, so she does need an educated rider that won’t be intimidated by her movement. She’s straightforward undersaddle with zero funny business. She is a joy to have in the barn and has filled in for lessons on many occasions. Buffy has rated show miles through the .95m jumpers and the 2'6 hunters. No show prep. Easy to handle at the shows as she is extremely professional. Buffy does have mild shivers, which in the 5 years that she has been with us, it has never caused an issue with her soundness or performance (the maintenance for shivers is currently a vitamin E supplement).

Course Correction aka 'Rye'
Rye is a 2010, 16h TB gelding with a ‘10’ jump, fabulous hind end and an amazing canter. Rye was started with us back in 2020, sold to a client and years later has made his way back to us for his next chapter as his mom’s life has gotten busy. Since he has been back, he’s gotten fit and really shown that he is ready to step into the hunter/jumper show ring. Rye really has it all - ammie friendly, three lovely gaits, educated on the flat, fabulous jump, auto changes, brave and adjustable to the fences. Best suited for a 'game' ammie or junior who wants an athletic be sensible gelding that can dabble in a bit of everything (hunters, jumpers, hacks out, etc). Rye has his own motor but is not overly forward. Rye cribs however it is controlled with a collar. He is ready to hit the 2026 show season and put in the miles. Currently, he is available for lease. In-house lease is ideal however other options can be available to the perfect fit.
